Jarrett King is an Austin-based actor and writer who brings a professional background of outreach and market cultivation to his position as Director of Development. He graduated summa cum laude from St. Edward’s University in 2009 with a B.A. in Theatre Arts and a minor in English Writing and Rhetoric and has since maintained an active involvement in Austin’s vibrant theatre community.
Previously, Jarrett was the Director of Education and Outreach for Transit Theatre Troupe at St. Edward’s, where he implemented the first New Works Festival (now an annual tradition). He also worked as a marketing mentor for SummerStock Austin’s 2009 season, heading up fundraising campaigns and generating program notes for their productions of Sweeney Todd and Little Shop of Horrors. Onstage, he’s appeared in productions for Palindrome Theatre (Endgame), Salvage Vanguard Theatre (Heddatron) and, most recently, the Mary Moody Northen Theatre (The Further Adventures of Hedda Gabler). He is also a founding member of A Working Group - Austin, an acting studio specializing in the Meisner technique run by the renowned actor/teacher Richard Robichaux.
